Managing the confounding clinical implications of Sickle Cell Disease is no small task. The benefits of medicines are the helpful effects when they are used. To mark the World Sickle Cell Day, SCHAF set aside Thursday, 16th June 2022 to distribute free routine medication to people affected with Sickle Cell Disease. This event was held at the Open Quadrangle, opposite Geriatrics Centre, University College Hospital Ibadan, Oyo State.
SCHAF was
able to distribute the medications through donations and support received from REALS Pharmaceuticals, Fidson Healthcare PLC and donations from kind hearted individuals. Medications distributed
included: Vitamin C tablets, Vitamin B tablets, Folic Acid tablets, Astymin
Multivitamin Syrup and Proguanil(Reludrine) Anti-Malarial.
A total of
99 people benefited from this event. SCHAF is grateful to all donors and
supporters.
