SCHAF held an end of year
programme to mark the end of the year 2022 at C.A.N.H.E.T. Centre, Opp.
Geriatrics UCH Ibadan on Wednesday 14th December 2022. The event had
in attendance SCD patients, SCD caregivers, representatives of SCHAF Board of
Trustees, clergy, invited guests and members of the press.
The programme featured goodwill
messages form the Trustee/Founder Prof Adeyinka Falusi, Mr Adeyemi Adebayo who
represented the Chairman of the programme; Mrs Folashade Adefisayo the
Honorable Commissioner for Education Lagos State. The SCD patients were charged
to keep up efforts in taking proper care of their health as much as they could.
Gift items were provided and successfully
distributed: Food items (Rice, Vegetable Oil, Salt, Tomato Paste, Spaghetti),
Routine Medication (Vit C, Vit B Complex, Folic Acid), Souvenirs (Branded T-Shirts
and bags). 4 Grinding Machines were gifted to 4 families which will serve as a
source of income to reduce the financial burden of sickle cell disease in
households.
The items were made available from
donations received from kind hearted individuals, associates, partners, FIDSON Healthcare
PLC, REALS Pharmaceuticals LTD. The items were distributed to about 160 SCD
patients and caregivers.
